This week it’s Growing for Wellbeing Week, celebrating how gardening and growing your own produce benefits our mental and physical wellbeing.
Set up by Life at No 27, a gardening and wellbeing organisation which promotes evidence showing the benefits of spending time in your garden.
Gardening can improve our mental health, enhance confidence, be our daily exercise and bring us some much-needed joy. The security and serenity of our own garden, growing flowers and vegetables from seeds, cutting a few fresh flowers for the table or, cooking vegetables which we’ve freshly picked from your garden can give us immense pleasure.
Even the smallest garden or balcony can have a few pots with flowers and vegetables, from tomatoes, Chilli plants and herbs to jolly red Geraniums. Hanging baskets full of flowers and trailing Strawberries, or a mixed basket of both look bright and happy, and we have the added pleasure of picking a juicy fruit as we pass by! The daily rituals of watering and deadheading as summer moves forward will give us little moments of serenity and some thinking space too.
Free resource packs are available from: https://lifeatno27.com/national-growing-for-wellbeing-week/
All our new homes have gardens and there are lots of landscaped areas at each development. Many of our home owners take great pride in their gardens and through the summer we see more and more beautiful hanging baskets and tubs which enhance the street scenes and bring a haze of colour to the area.
All our sales offices and show homes in Kent are open by appointment only. Click here to visit our new homes developments page and contact the Sales Office to arrange your viewing https://www.westerhillhomes.co.uk/developments, we’re looking forward to welcoming you.
