Last weekend, Latimer and Westerhill Homes organised two winter walks at Conningbrook Lakes Country Park in Ashford.
Led by a Kent Wildlife Trust expert, the walks were organised to give local people and the new residents at Conningbrook Lakes Housing Development the opportunity to expore the nature reserve on their door step with a guided walk. The walks were very successful and they spotted gadwall, grey heron, mallards, kingfisher, little egrets, coots, a wigeon and tufted ducks, along with a handful of garden birds.
After the walk the children collected materials from around the park and lakes for a guided craft activity back at the sales suite, with hot chocolate and biscuits provided.
Conningbrook Lakes and Country Park is a former quarry site next to the Julie Rose Stadium, which is being transformed by the investment provided by Latimer and Westerhill Homes on the banks of Conningbrook Lake. The lakeside village of 300 high-quality, private residential homes will see the regeneration of the site, turning the man-made lakes into a family-orientated country park.
