Elmer's Big Heart of Kent Parade - auction news

Tuesday 14th September 2021

We are very proud to have been the Presenting Partner for Elmer’s Big Heart of Kent Parade this summer. The culmination of the amazing community art trail was the auction of the 51 Elmers last Thursday evening at The Mercure Hotel, Maidstone.

An amazing £312,750 was raised for Heart of Kent Hospice during the evening, with our sponsored Elmer’s raising a total of £16,750:

Heard Across The County raised £5,500

Where’s Elmer raised £6,250

Our sister company Chartway Civil Engineering (CCE) Zebrelmer raised £5,000

We were approached by the Hospice back in 2019 with a story of Elephants coming to Maidstone, asking us if we would be the official Presenting Partner for Elmer’s Big Heart of Kent Parade, we were delighted to accept. We were very keen to continue our relationship with Heart of Kent Hospice, which we have been supporting in a number of ways over the last 6 years. As an active member of the Kent community, delivering quality homes across the county we want to be able to give something back.  Our new homes customers are joining residential neighbourhoods around Maidstone, so it seemed very appropriate that we get involved. We were also able to gift four of the baby elephant sculptures to local schools: Coxheath, Loose and Jubilee Primary Schools and Cornwallis Academy.

Maidstone enjoyed a fabulous free art trail of 81 elephants this summer.  51 large Elmers sponsored by local companies and 31 baby elephant sculptures, designed and painted by local schools, Nurseries and Clubs were located around the town and in its parks and attractions such as Allington Lock and Leeds Castle.

We know that the people of Maidstone,  and all the many visitors to the Parade,  have had a wonderful opportunity to discover different areas around the town, it’s and parks and attractions such as Allington Lock and Leeds Castle, and will treasure unique memories of summer 2021 as being one of unique entertainment.

The baby elephants have now returned to their schools, and the large Elmers are on their way to their new homes with the successful bidders.

Check back in to see our posts for exciting news of where our two Elmers will be going to ‘live’ very soon ……….!
